I had a really enjoyable morning with the group, and it taught me new ways to look for photo opportunities as well as some techniques on my camera which I am still learning about. Our guide was helpful in answering any questions and it was also great chatting to the other participants and learning from them. I'm really looking forward to attending another session soon and I'm sure this will be the first of many!

I took the opportunity of a rare bright morning to wander around with a recently acquired long lens which I am still getting to grips with. Until recently I only had my phone to shoot with so I am not used to having this amount of compression available . I took many dozens of shots that didn't quite work, but this one came together nicely. Taken with Fujifilm X-T

On the 2nd of January, I was at Gladhouse Reservoir, planning the first full moon of 2026, the wolf moon which was the following day. As it crested the horizon at 99 illumination, the sun was setting behind me, casting a gentle, painterly warmth across the water and trees. The soft winter light seemed to wrap the landscape in a golden hush, while the moon?s reflection shimmered quietly on the reservoir?s surface.
