We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations across the region.
New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month.
And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Your experience doesnít stop once the class ends - you can also share your photos with your peers in the Edinburgh Photography Facebook Group

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions

Seascape Photography - Seacliff Beach - 10am - 2 hours
Seacliff is arguably the best beach along the Lothian coast for photography. There is a harbour hewn into the rock and dozens of rock pools, natural islets and bedrock to experiment with. We will cover filters and slow shutter speed photography (at a beginner's level) to capture waves and hopefully the natural cauldron. This is a good seascape session for beginners.

Was a great way to spend a morning, there wasn't a question that wasn't answered, really informative and finally got me off automatic mode. Virginia was extremely knowledgeable and passionate and thought of everything from models being arranged to hand warmers with is being outside.

This is the first event of this type I have attended and was really nervous. The host Lara really put me at ease and was great throughout the morning. It was great that there was only 3 of us, Lara was able to split her time most generously between us all. A great price, not prohibitive at all.
